ABOUT MEI am a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln associated with Dr. Dai Shizuka's lab. My research seeks to better understand the dynamics and evolution of social behavior. I utilize long-term field observations, experimentation, social network analyses, and citizen based science to examine why individuals join social groups, how individuals benefit from social behavior, and how animal social networks change over time. My research utilizes fairywrens—cooperatively breeding Australian passerines—to address these questions.
